FAQ's

Can I fit uPVC doors in a conservation area?

Before replacing doors in a conservation area, you will need to speak to your local Planning Authority and Building Control. It’s important not to do anything until you have advised them of your plans. If the local Planning Authority have enforced an Article 4 directive, a planning application may be required for replacement uPVC Doors or bi fold doors, as it cannot be done under ‘permitted development’ in the usual way.

Can I combine a Bi-Fold door with a conservatory?

Yes, you can have Bi-Fold doors leading into your conservatory from your house, to seamlessly blend your 2 living spaces together. Or you can them leading into the garden from your conservatory, to blend your indoor and outdoor space into one. You can have Bi-Fold doors with as few as 2 panes, so you can fit them onto most conservatories

Do I have a choice of glass for my door?

Yes, you can choose any type of glass you like for your door.  If you speak to your installer, he can show you the different options that are available.  This applies to our full door range including bi-folding doors and French doors.

There are a variety of different glass styles available for your doors, so you can choose the one that best fits with the style of your home.  Bevelled glass is a popular choice as it provides an attractive finish that reflects light beautifully into your home.  Similarly, choosing a stained-glass design for feature panels in doors can complement your interior design.  For low maintenance windows in areas which are hard to reach, you might want to choose a self-cleaning glass.

Depending on local temperatures and noise levels, you might want to consider a triple glazing panel, but it is important to bear in mind that this would increase the weight of your door significantly and as such, you should speak to your installer to get their advice.

Is there a cost difference if I choose a colour on one or both sides of my product?

Yes, if you choose any other colour rather then 'standard white' as a colour internally or externally there is an extra cost. Visit our visualiser to get an estimate for your home improvement or speak to your local installer for further detail.
